It has been exactly 5 years since we started our journey towards sustainable mobility with the commissioning of our first fully electric bus. In the meantime our fleet counts 11 electric vehicles, and we plan to further expand it this year.
As a future-oriented and environmentally friendly company, the need to invest in a modern and sustainable depot was and still is very important to us. Therefore, two years ago, in parallel to the gradual conversion of our fleet to e-buses, we started building our first electric depot in the industrial zone “Fridhaff” in the « Nordstadt ». At the beginning of this year we were able to successfully complete the first construction phase. After around 730 exciting days and more than 25 project sketches, a third of the total area of 23,000 square meters has been completed and offers space for 39 charging stations. In a second phase, the construction of a new workshop for e-buses, an administration building, covered parking spaces for e-fleet and the progressive expansion of our photovoltaic system are planned.
As a major consumer of electricity we are aware of our social responsibility. Our Photovoltaic system with a peak output of 500 kW already supplies the power grid of the city of Diekirch and thus contributes to green energy in the « Nordstadt ».
Building our own electric depot was a very important milestone for us to meet the requirements for sustainable and future mobility. We are now well prepared to drive emission-free mobility in Luxembourg.
